  • This position is a full time position.

    The child care Lead Teacher will work as a team with the management staff and Assistant Teachers to implement the child care program. The team will assist in carrying out the child care mission and values by providing high quality child care services to children and parents.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Plan and implement the daily plans and activities.

    Assist in supervising children and participate with children in activities.

    Maintain program site and equipment.

    Communicate with parents on an ongoing basis and plan parent conferences.

    The Lead Teacher is the only person to communicate any serious issues with parents besides the Center Director/ President.

    Lead Teachers are responsible for bring all serious issues to the Center Director/ President

    Complete with daily observations and child evaluations.

    Provide guidance for children’s behavior.

    Other duties or tasks as designated by the management team.

    Minimum Requirements

    Must be able to pass background check, drug screening, physical exam and fingerprinting.

    Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

    A commitment to working with children in a developmental setting and a sincere

    desire to have a meaningful effect on their lives.

    Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

    Willingness to complete tasks under the direction of the management team.

    Previous experience in a child care setting is preferred.

    Ability to meet Iowa DHS standards and regulations for a child care employee.

    Physical Requirements

    Perform all physical aspects of the position, including frequently moving around, bending, reaching and routinely lifting 30 pounds at a time.

    Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.

    May provide children with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering and feeding.

    May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as a part of the child care environment.

    The child care helper will work as a team with all staff to implement the child care program. The team will assist in carrying out the child care mission and values by providing high quality child care services to children and parents.

  • Cook

    Ensures safe food preparations and proper sanitation methods are used and maintains a safe and clean kitchen/pantry area. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    Create nutritional meal plans in the boundaries of their school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements.

    Prepare meals/snacks for children and staff. Distribute food to the classrooms following appropriate health and safety guidelines, and policies.

    Ensures all allergies are accommodated and presented with correct substitutions

    Create and follow the daily menu which incorporates USDA, licensing and/or health department regulations.

    Maintain inventory of food and supplies and order/pick up more when needed.

    Assists in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.

    Are caring, compassionate and love what they do

    Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals, preferably in a childcare facility

    An understanding of all current state and local regulations

    Cleaning and other miscellaneous tasks

    Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

    Must be at least 18 years of age
